Project members Barbara De Cock, Philippe Hambye, Coline Rondiat and Nadezda Shchinova co-edited a special issue on "Keywords in sociopolitical debates: confronting different approaches to struggles about meaning in discourse" in Journal of Corpora and Discourse Studies.

Based on a panel held at IPrA2023, the topics discussed in this issue are (at least) as timely as they were when we held the panel!

Indeed, the issue includes an introduction discussing different approaches to keywords (by Philippe Hambye, Coline Rondiat and Barbara De Cock). It furthermore includes papers analysing in different languages and discourse types terms such as sustainable (Chiara Mercuri), populism (Nadezda Shchinova), woke (Melani Schroeter), polarisation (Dolores Porto and Manuela Romano), revolution (Isabelle Gribomont), science (Coline Rondiat), fake news (Elise Schürgers), transphobic (Berit Johannsen).
